Books that are shaping me at the moment

Books that are shaping me at the moment:
  • Insourcing (‘Bringing Discipleship Back to the Local Church’), by Randy Pope. Argues that churches need to bring discipleship into the foreground.
  • Telling the Gospel Through Story (‘Evangelism That Keeps Hearers Wanting More’), by Christine Dillon. Argues that the Bible uses story to tell deep theological truths simply, and so should we.
  • The Book That Made Your World (‘How the Bible created the soul of western civilization’), by Vishal Mangalwadi. An Indian Christian intellectual wants to show us Westerners how it is the Bible that created our culture, but we are in danger of forgetting it.
  • The Global Gospel (‘Achieving Missional Impact in Our Multicultural World’), by Werner Mischke. Argues that we Westerners need a better understanding of honour and shame themes in the Bible, in order to better present the gospel to a global community.
  • Journey to the West (a.k.a. Monkey King). Discovering traditional Chinese religious thought (especially Buddhism) through this 16th century Chinese classic novel.
